I want to put better detail in the creature and put in shadows

The breakdown

January: Create a basic sketch of the creature.
February: Finish the drawing and get it into digital form.
March: Refine the drawing and start to add more detail and colors.
April: Finish the picture, touch up on some of the areas and refine it to its best possible state.
